The prefecture of Chania is divided into 25 municipalities with Kissamos lying in the northwest of the prefecture. Kissamos town is the capital of the municipality.

The prefecture of Chania is divided into 25 municipalities with Kissamos lying in the northwest of the prefecture. (see map below). Kissamos town is the capital of the municipality.

 

The municipality includes the Gramvousa peninsula and islets, and the islet of Pontikonisi, and the villages of Sfinari, Koukounaras, Polirinia, Platanos, Lousakia, Sirikari, Kallergiania and Kalathena.
